Trying to Make the Driving World a Little Less Annoying

Weichei

While vacationing in Germany this summer, a friend there called me a “Weichei.” We were in Regensburg at the time, and our friend and the rest of the family wanted to check something out. I did not want to be under the hot sun so I said I would wait for them on a park bench under a tree. That’s when she called me a “soft egg.” A wimp. A Warmduscher. A Schattenparker. All of the above, that’s me.

Easy Peasy

My 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo was immobilized for over a year after I decided to work on one of the most critical components of a car—the radio. Without a radio, a car is not driveable.

This could have been a good pandemic project, but I actually started back in the summer of 2018 and didn’t finish until the end of summer 2019—over a year later. This was supposed to be an easy winter project, but on an old Porsche, no project is ever easy or straightforward.

Rear View Perspective

There Is No Substitute… for a Vacation Day

The Porsche 928 has always been my favorite Porsche. I had built a model of it in high school about the same time I really started liking cars. Then I saw it in movies like Weird Science and Risky Business.

It made me want to be a U-boat commander.
