It\u2019s been quite a while since I last posted something\u2014 almost exactly two years, actually. Obviously, a lot has happened since I\u2019ve last blogged:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the economy tanked big time<\/li>\n<li>GM declared bankruptcy<\/li>\n<li>Chrysler declared bankruptcy<\/li>\n<li>my company got bought<\/li>\n<li>I didn\u2019t receive any of the $1 trillion bailout money<\/li>\n<li>I wasn\u2019t selected to run GM<\/li>\n<li>Detroit has been overrun by zombies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay, maybe the last item is a premature, post-bankruptcy, apocalyptic scenario (but which could still happen), however, the rest are definitely cranky-inducing events. Luckily, I few things did go my way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>my son was born (4 months ago)<\/li>\n<li>I bought a new car (1 year ago)<\/li>\n<li>I kept my job<\/li>\n<li>we discovered a huge black monolith orbiting Jupiter (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0086837\/\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">2010<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of these are just part of the trials of working in the auto industry in Detroit. If it\u2019s not making me cry, it\u2019s making me crazy. So why don\u2019t I leave it? Because I love the auto industry.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s why I\u2019m writing again. I can\u2019t guarantee that I won\u2019t go another two years for my next entry, but I\u2019m going to try really hard to post regularly.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPeople who say they sleep like a baby usually don\u2019t have one.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211;Leo J.
